Product Review: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hey guys,

Here’s another product review! As I previously mentioned I have a lot of upcoming product reviews. This review is for NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Creams, this product is described as not being a lipgloss nor lipstick. I would describe this product as a creamy lipgloss when first applied, that dries to a matte lipstick finish. This is a very unique product, I have never used anything quite like it. Although there are “liquid lipsticks” out there, this product’s beautiful matte finish puts it in a class of its own.

Ok so I purchased this product at my local Ulta. This product retails for $6. I had a great coupon for ULTA that gave me $5 off my purchase. So I purchased two matte creams initially for $7 total; which is a great prize. I initially purchased Abu Dhabi and Monte Carlo. Monte Carlo is a deep red, it’s just stunningly beautiful and rich looking. Abu Dhabi is a rich tan color, which is the perfect nude lip color for me.

When I first used these products I was amazed at how beautiful and vibrant the colors were. The colors actually shows up on lips exactly how it looks in the tube. I was very impressed.

Application:

Due to the fact that this product dries to a matte finish, I usually moisturize my lips prior to apply this product. I lightly moisturizer because although it dries matte it does not dry out my lips at all. My lips feel smooth all day even without moisturzing beforehand.

I also use a lip liner when applying these lip creams because the colors are so striking. I line my lips with MAC’s Brick lip pencil, which a red color, when I wear Monte Carlo. I line my lips with MAC’s chestnut when I am wearing Abu Dhabi.

I do not apply a gloss over it, because I love the extremely matte lips I can achieve with this product. This product applies very creamy and smooth. It is very easy to distribute on the lips, it is not sticky or tacky at all.

Another thing I love about this product is that it does not transfer. Once it cream has dried and set it does not move. The color lasts me all day!

Overall I love this product, it became an instant favorite of mine. I have since purchased a few more I plan to collecting all of the colors.

Feel free to ask me any questions

Makeup Confessions: New Discoveries

Hey Guys

I am starting this new series titled Makeup Confessions. The title is pretty self-explanatory, I will be discussing makeup, things I love and new things I am trying.

Ok for the longest time I was a complete MAC-head. I only used MAC cosmetics. I purchased all of makeup, brushes, lashes, makeup remover, etc from MAC exclusively.

I have worn MAC since I was 16, pretty much when I started wearing makeup. So I have never used any other brands. Because makeup is one of my interests I decided I need to branch out. MAC has been great I have not come across a MAC product that I was dissatisfied with, nor will stop buying or using MAC. However, because of my love for makeup I thought I needed to diversify my makeup collection.

My current makeup collection

Since I only shopped at MAC I had no clue where to start. In order to get ideas and reviews of products I turned to YouTube. I watched videos of reviews and tutorials to get an idea of what I would like to try. The first thing I decided I needed was an eyeshadow palette, so I ordered the Sedona Lace 168 pro eyeshadow palette. Yes, people this palette contains 168 colors. The reason I picked this palette was because all the reviews raved that the colors were very pigmented. This is what really peaked my interest in this product. This product costs $29.95 at SedonaLace.com. I did a quick search and found a coupon code that gave me $4 off! I am still waiting for this item to arrive in the mail, but 168 shadows for $25 is an amazing steal. I usually pay $14-$18 for one MAC shadow. So I am very excited to try these shadows. I will be reviewing this product once I have used it for a while.

Next I needed to add some makeup brushes to my collection. Again after watching reviews and videos on YouTube, I am across E.L.F. brushes. ( Eyes, Lips & Face). I found an amazing coupon code for the ELF website, the coupon gave me 50% off of all of their studio items. The coupon code was ECD21. I got 4 brushes (blush, foundation, complexion & eyeshadow brush), a brush holder, two brush cleansers & tons more. The brushes cost $3 because I had the coupon I only paid $1.50 per brush! This again seemed like a steal to me. I actually did a pretty large haul from ELF. I will also review these products once I use them for some time.

Finally I got some NYX products. I picked these products up at my local Ulta. I got NYX’s soft matte lip creams. This product goes on like a lip gloss but dries to become a matte lipstick. The colors are amazing and I loved the concept. I got two Monte Carlo, which is a deep red. I also got Abu Dhabi, which is the perfect creamy nude color. I tried these on and I love them so far. I know I will be buying more. This item costs $5.99, but I had a coupon for Ulta that gave me $5 dollars off! So I got one for .99 cents. I will also do a formal review on this product.

All in all I am glad I started trying different things. I found some amazing things so far. I also am very happy with these prices! Some other products I want to try are Milani, Inglot, La Femme and a few more.

Till next time
