Spend the day with me… Shopping & Dinner in NYC

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I truly enjoyed myself this past weekend & I thought it would be fun to share with you guys.

I thought it would be fun to bring you along on my day out in NYC. I had a fabulous outing with my husband. It was just one of those perfect days.

So, we headed into the city for the day. We planned on doing some shopping & browsing in Soho & then dinner later that evening.

City bound. All bundled up & yes it was freezing.

So we headed to Soho, which as of recently has become my favorite shopping destination.
Soho has great shopping because unlike other shopping districts in New York City, I feel as though Soho has the variety. I mean you can go from the high end boutiques such as Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton to more trendy shops such as Brandy Melville, Aritiza, Topshop & All Saints.
Soho also offers some affordable fashion spots too such as H&M, Zara & Uniqlo. Literally anything on your shopping list, you will find in Soho.

Arrived! Outside of one my new favorites shops, All Saints Soho.

Ok, so I was planning on treating myself to something very special. As most of you know I have been really working very hard over the last few years. Now that the end of my graduate program is in sight, I wanted to celebrate the start of my LAST semester! So I headed to Balenciaga!

About an hour later, I couldn’t be happier.

With my main purchase completed. It was time to explore the other treasures of Soho.
If you are interested to see the contents of this beautiful Balenciaga shopping bag, let me know.

After some more shopping & snagging some amazing deals, we were off to dinner.

So we headed up to the meatpacking district for our dinner reservation at Pastis. Pastis is a famous French eatery.

Dinner at Pastis was amazing, the food was delicious, the ambience was great & the service was excellent.
I had the braised beef with carrots, which was so tender it melted in your mouth. My husband had the Monkfish with lobster which was perfection, that dish was a special that will be added to their permanent menu very soon, highly recommend. We finished up our evening with a decadent dessert.

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post it’s a little different then what I normally do. I just thought it would be
fun to have you guys hang out with me for the day.

Till next time

100% Natural ~ My Deva Cut at the Devachan Salon

Hi All,

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. As I previously mentioned, I have been transitioning to my natural hair texture since September 2010. At the end of April, I was scheduled for my final haircut of my transitioning process. I was so excited to get my cut done at the Devachan salon in Soho, NY. I have had my hair cut there several times, however this cut was very important to me.

Devachan specializes in curly hair. They have a unique method of cutting curly hair dry and in it’s natural state. What is cool about getting your hair cut dry, is that you see how the shape and style is turning out as you go along. So you get a good preview of your final look and that way there are no surprises.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at DevaChan. The level of service is amazing. I also love how the stylists are so knowledgeable. While you are getting your hair done your stylist gives you tips about caring for your hair. I find that really helpful, because the stylist also examines the health and condition of your hair and gives you tips and suggestions accordingly. My favorite part of the DevaChan experience is the wash station. The wash station is designed so that you are laying down under a canopy while your hair is being washed. It is very relaxing as well as private.

So my goal for this cut, was to cut off the remainder of my straight ends and create a cute shape for my hair. This will also allow my hair to grow out evenly and remain in a style. It is very important when you have curly hair that you have a good cut and shape to your hair. I was very pleased with my final results. My stylist really took her time and I absolutely love my final results.
